Committees

Committees comprise a Chair, Vice Chair and internally elected members. The Council's Standing Orders and Terms of Reference set out each committees's delegated authority, expenditure and quorum (number of attendees required for a meeting).

The Burial Board is a collaboration Committee with St Stephens Church. Saltash Town Council own the cemetery and land surrounding St Stephens and manage and maintain the cemetery land. The Burial Board meet as and when there is sufficient business to discuss and work with St Stephens to maintain and manage the facilities for all those who wish to use and visit the cemetery.

The Annual Meeting with Parishioners is held in March. (The minutes from this meeting will show as unapproved until the meeting the following year.)


Wanting to attend a meeting?

All meetings are held in the Guildhall or via the Zoom platform and all are open to the public except Personnel due to the confidential nature of the meeting. Committee Meetings are held regularly as follows:

◾Full Council meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month.

◾Planning and Licensing are held on the third Tuesday of the month.

◾Personnel Committee meet on the last Wednesday of the month, bi-monthly.

◾Policy and Finance Committee meet on the second Tuesday of the month, bi-monthly.

◾Services Committee meet on the second Wednesday of the month, bi-monthly.

◾Burial Board and Burial Authority meet quarterly.

◾Only Full Council meet in August.

There is a 15-minute period when members of the public may ask question of Members of the Council at each Committee meeting. Please note; any member of the public requiring to put a question to the Council must do so 24 hours prior to the meeting by writing or email - enquiries@saltash.gov.uk.
