The Civic Awards are held annually to celebrate and award achievements within the community and those who continually go the extra mile for the town. Nominations are normally open in January of each year. All nominations must be made on the nominations form.
The award categories are:
Contribution to the Community
This award recognises individuals or community and voluntary groups based in Saltash who have made a positive contribution to the local community. People who make an outstanding effort to bring the community together, improve the town of Saltash either environmentally or aesthetically, or those who go out of their way to help others, in their own time.
Youth Achievement
Awarded to an individual aged 18 or under who has made a significant, positive contribution to the town, demonstrating exceptional community spirit or for excellence in areas not normally recognised. This may be acts of bravery, kindness, caring for others or improving their community.
Lifetime Achievement
Recognising exceptional and continued commitment to the life of the community of Saltash over a considerable period of time. The award recognises a real commitment to others in the community, going over and above what would ordinarily be expected, through volunteering, community work, helping neighbours or carrying out exceptional deeds spanning a lifetime.
Youth Group Leader Award
Presented in recognition of inspirational and committed volunteer youth group leadership in the town.
Sporting Achievement
Recognising the achievement of a team or an individual, participating in, organising or contributing to local sports. The award may celebrate a sporting performance at local, national or international level or those who give their time working behind the scenes at local sports clubs or groups.
Cultural Contribution
Recognising significant contribution to the cultural life of the town by an individual.
Note: The awarding of each of the Civic Awards is at the discretion of the Awards Panel, therefore each of the award categories might not be allocated a winner every year, or multiple awards of the same category could be awarded.

Contribution to the Community
Chris Haverson for his passion and enthusiasm for the environment. A regular litter picker of the town and at major events and volunteer with Saltash Environmental Action.
Contribution to the Community
Ruth Wunderle for her long standing dedication and volunteering with Saltash Foodbank. Ruth will undertake any task with enthusiasm and passion.
Contribution to the Community
Saltash Blind and Partially Sighted (BAPS) Club for supporting visually impaired people in Saltash with a fun and friendly place to meet and share experiences.
Contribution to the Community
C.R.A.P Saltash is a Facebook group which saves items from landfill by offering a place for residents to give away or request items. This has saved tons of items and fostered a culture of sustainability in the town.
Contribution to the Community
For 15 years David has been entertaining children at Saltash Library Hub. As a volunteer he gives his time every week to engage children with his songs and music.
Youth Achievement
Rhys and Sophie were nominated jointly for their commitment to volunteering and supporting Livewire's junior sessions over the past year.
Lifetime Achievement
Bill Dent has been a member of Saltash and District Royal British Legion since 1992 and is the President of the group. He has volunteered in many roles including organiser of the poppy appeal and parade marshall.

Steve Kent was one of the founding members of Caradon Pilot Gig Club in 1987 and has been involved in the sport ever since. Ready to give advice and support Steve supports everyone particularly young rowers.

Dave Oliver has been a member of Saltash Sailing Club for over 50 years and has been a driving force behind several major projects enhancing the facilities.

Phil Taylor has been involved in the Music, Speech and Drama festival committee since its founding in 1991. He has been the Musical Director of Burraton Male Voice Choir for 50 years.

Craig Jones has volunteered as a coach with Saltash Rugby Club for several years. He is a great role model with a great work ethic and positivity.

Micky Northfield is a remarkable youth leader who leads the Saltash Amateur Boxing Club since 2008. He also volunteered at the Core since 2015 and is a trustee of the youth oraganisation.
Cultural Contribution
Bruce Hunt has been a member of Saltash Heritage since its inception in 1986 and is currently Vice-Chair. He has written ten books about the town and frequently gives talks about Saltash to local groups.
Youth Achievement
Milo has volunteered at Saltash Foodbank on Saturday mornings for over two years and is a reliable and hard working volunteer.
