Beating of the Bounds Part 1

At Saltash Town Council, we’re committed to being open and transparent about the services and facilities being delivered on behalf of the community. Sharing before-and-after updates demonstrates how public spaces are being maintained and improved, keeping you informed about ongoing work, and showing how the Town Council are working to support Saltash's wellbeing, environment and quality of life.
Ahead of Beating of the Bounds taking place on Saturday October 3rd, the Service Delivery team have gone ahead of the crowds to clear up the Boundary Stones.
Beating of the Bounds is an ancient custom still observed in England and Wales to preserve the collective memory of local borders. Community members walk and physically mark boundary points. In the case of Saltash Town Council, these are six distinct Boundary Stones.
The Service Delivery team have attended each Stone to ensure it is clear of weeds, grass, debris and litter. This ensures the route is safe and easy for members of the local community embarking on this ancient tradition.
These updates also demonstrate how council tax is being invested locally, while giving members of the public the opportunity to share feedback on what matters most to them regarding the services the Town Council provide.
